As the son of Roger Marshall, Dr. Rodney Marshall has a unique
perspective on the series, and below are his reviews of select episodes. Rodney has also penned an essay entitled,
The Avengers: Mission Improbable. But his single greatest contribution to this website is undoubtedly his father's early draft of
A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Station:
OVERKILL.
Born 23 February 1966 in London, at a time when his father was still writing for The Avengers, Rodney studied for a BA in English
Literature at Cardiff University, plus an MA and PhD in English and American Literature at Exeter University. He lectured at Exeter from 1991 to
'95, then taught school from '96 to 2004. Moving to Ruffec, France, Rodney co-ran a property company and worked as a freelance journalist. He'll
be returning to the UK in September to re-enter teaching. Interests include novel reading, The Avengers, soccer, tennis and social history.
Rodney is married with two children: Jessica and Tomas. |
