Rescue Me!

During the Emma Peel era, Emma seems to rescue Steed as much as the reverse. Was this the case? Here is a scorecard for the monochrome episodes, kindly compiled by John Orleanski (scroll down for the color season):

from the plant by dousing her with herbicide before she is dragged off.

For the color episodes, it would seem the studio got some of their way and influenced the script writers/directors to have Steed rescue Emma more times than she did him. This perhaps met the USA requirements that Emma be toned down. Shame, really, but there it is:
