ASHES OF ROSES

Production completed: 4 March 1961
UK Premiere: 4 March 1961

Following up on a rash of arson cases, Steed arranges for Dr. Keel's assistant Carol to have some time off for a hairdressing appointment. Although Carol is only at the salon to do a little snooping, she is nearly killed when the hair drier she is using blows up. It was intended for the hairdresser's assistant, and serves as proof that the salon's owners are involved with a known arsonist in a plan to destroy the nearly bankrupt salon so as to collect the insurance.
