July: A&E begins releasing the remastered Emma Peel episodes on video in America.
August: The Avengers movie is released to theaters.

January: The Avengers movie is released on video.

January: A&E begins releasing Cathy Gale episodes on video in America.

2001

April: "Girl on the Trapeze" is discovered in the UCLA film archive.
Canal+ begins releasing bilingual DVDs in France.

2002

The UK finally begins seeing The Avengers and The New Avengers DVDs.
The first 20 minutes of "Hot Snow" and a 10-minute version of "The Strange Case of the Missing Corpse" are discovered in the UCLA film archive.
November: "Girl on the Trapeze" is screened in London at the NFT.

2003

May: The Avengers arrives on DVD in Italy and the Netherlands.
December: The first season of The New Avengers on DVD is released in North America.

2004

June: The second season of The New Avengers on DVD is released in North America.
November: The Avengers arrives on DVD in Australia.

2005

October: France re-releases the entire series all at once on DVD.

2006

February: A&E re-releases its Emma Peel Megaset, which includes a bonus DVD containing the surviving first season episodes plus other extras such as Avenging the Avengers documentary, "The Strange Case of the Missing Corpse" and more.
March: A&E releases The Avengers '62, containing the last of the Cathy Gale episodes to make it to DVD, and with this A&E has completed its promise to release everything Avengers, an odyssey that began July 1998.
