Clive Banks' Science Fiction and Telefantasy Databanks has an Avengers section that make interesting reading: TAF regulars will soon realize that significant chunks of the text have been lifted straight from TAF. And Clive claims in his CV to be a writer! More like a lazy cut-and-paster. Grrr...

CrazyAboutTV spices up a typical episode list with a little trivia.

Something called Break TV has a teeny bit about the show.

The Actors of British Science Fiction, Fantasy and Cult Television Shows lists virtually all Avengers guest actors, but what makes it even more interesting is seeing who played in what else, since Webmaster Toby Nelson covers over 80 cult shows for a total of nearly 10,000 actors (here is "my" page).

Jump The Shark defines that moment in a show when it has peaked... makes for fascinating reading!

The first entry in TV Acres' TV Signoffs - Departing Characters is Emma's touching farewell to Steed.

Whom: The objective form of 'who', used when 'who' is not the subject of its own clause. (You figure it out.) Little more than an episode guides site, which to be honest, has nothing fresh to offer.

The Network & Cable TV Show Guide has an ambitious goal: Catalog virtually every TV show ever broadcast. While there might not be enough server space for everything, they do at least feature The Avengers. However, they insist on calling our hero Jonathan Steed. Warning: Loud and terrible midi theme file loads with this page.

For a highly colorful and animated look at the history of British Television, featuring The Avengers (episode guide only so far), see British Television History and Classic Programming.

At Pop Culture's Greatest Hits, The Avengers is named as one of the "Top Five TV Shows in History." (Glad to see it was a winner. As for some of the other picks, well, there's no accounting for taste.)

Tim's TV Showcase features a page about The Avengers, listing Patrick Macnee's character as Jonathan Steed.

Pazsaz Entertainment Network provides little more than an episode list and a sadly outdated storefront—note the spelling of Patrick Macnee's character: John Sneed!

The Avengers at Cult TV apparently once comprised a complete plagiarism of James Dawe's The Unofficial Avengers Home Page (now defunct). Some remnants of the rip-off are still evident, including James Dawe's original page background and the logo that James lifted from my original Avengers pages. This page used to contain a long, nasty rant directed toward James Dawe for complaining that he had been ripped off; thankfully this is all in the very distant past, and everyone has moved on.
