29 November. Linda Thorson fans will enjoy hearing her reminisce about The Avengers and other career experiences—the BBC Wiltshire website provides streaming audio excerpts from a recent interview with her. Topics include the enduring appeal of The Avengers, working with Patrick Macnee, taking over from Diana Rigg, her favourite episodes, Linda as a Bond girl, and on becoming an alien (Gul Ocett in Star Trek: TNG). With thanks to Duane Dunkerson.

25 October. Big news for fans in Avengerland: Classic TV (a.k.a. 2|entertain) is preparing to unleash the definitive DVD collection very soon. (With thanks to Alan Hayes not only for this flier, but also for helping 2|entertain stay the steady course.) Check this out:

13 October. Basically, the bad news is that the new Optimum New Avengers DVD video quality is nearly identical to that of the old Contenders; the good news is that the commentaries are no rumor. General information about the new Optimum release is here. Comparison of the new Optimum and the original Contender image quality, plus some sample menus, can be found here. Release date is 30 October; street prices for various vendors available here. (Amazon.co.uk happens to be the best value—please use this link to support the site. Thanks.)

23 September. The New Avengers is enjoying a new DVD release for R2 (Great Britain and Europe) from Optimum Home Entertainment. Rumor has it there will be two commentaries, both featuring Brian Clemens and Gareth Hunt, on "The Eagle's Nest" and "Dead Men Are Dangerous." Only trouble is, what's the packaging really look like? Both of these covers have appeared on Amazon.co.uk. With thanks to Chris Wray.

13 April. The 20th Dead Man's Treasure Hunt is being planned. Want to join the fun? Check out the details!

25 January. The Avengers '62 in the flesh, so to speak, leaves no doubt now that A&E have finally done it. Kudos to A&E, congratulations, and many, many thanks for making it happen!

Pre-order The Avengers '62!

23 January. Most folks I imagine ordered their new Bonus disc from Amazon, and that's great—using the links here supports the site. I ordered my copy from A&E because they make their stuff available a month before it hits the street. So, I'm in a position to offer up a sneak peek at the packaging, front and back, as well as the disc menus. All images used by permission. Click images for larger views.
