8 December. Diana Rigg was honored last night with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Women in Film and Television Awards, held at The Dorchester Hotel, London. The annual event celebrates the talents of women in the film and television industries and winners are chosen by a panel of judges from the worlds of media and politics. This is the latest in a long line of awards for Diana, and these are listed in her biography here at The Avengers Forever. 10 July. Pre-order the DVD set. 28 March 2001. There are a lot of rumors flying around concerning a "missing episode" that may have been found: "Girl on the Trapeze." If it does indeed exist, it would provide a unique glimpse into the series: the episode was suggested to the producers by Ian Hendry, who began his career in the circus. It is also noteworthy that Patrick Macnee is not in this episode. When confirmation of its existence is announced, you'll see it here. 11 March 2001. "Gareth Hunt will play a hitman in EastEnders. Producers have confirmed the ex-Avengers star is to appear in the BBC soap. But they say he won't be the man who shot Phil Mitchell. According to the Daily Star, Gareth will join the show as a villain hired by Steve Owen to kill the mechanic. But another character pulled the trigger before Gareth had time to carry out the contract. A source told the paper Steve had nothing to do with the shooting but wishes he had. William Hill have re-opened the book on Who Shot Phil Mitchell? They had stopped accepting bets after rumours Gareth Hunt plays the gunman. Gareth Hunt's odds have been slashed from 16-1 to 4-1 with a £25 limit on bets. Dan Sullivan is still favourite at 5-4."
