Trick or Treat. (26 October) UK fans who have not seen "Hot Snow" may want to try and attend the British Film Institute's screening at NFT1 on Sunday, 11 December 2005 in London's South Bank, as part of its "Missing Believed Wiped" program. For more on this special event, see this article in The Observer. (Also check out the name of the author—not me, but what a coincidence!) In other exciting news, multiple rumors from multiple sources indicate that The Avengers is returning to UK broadcast television, beginning with a brand new Avengers documentary! BBC4 will air The Avengers Revisited on 10 November 2005. The two seasons of Emma Peel episodes will then follow (beginning with the color season). Also new with this update: a biography of Michael Ward (Freddy in "Killer"), a brief review of "A Chorus of Frogs" by Fred Cooper, and some observations on "Noon Doomsday" by Scott Alexander. For pure trivia, "The House That Jack Built" gets its nursery rhyme. And finally, after three and a half years of dormancy, the Trivia Quiz gets a new question!

Mini-marathon. (13 October) Starting this Saturday evening, BBC America will run six Emma Peel episodes in a row. The schedule is:

An Evening with Anneke Wills. (12 October) Tim Hirst of Celebrity Meetings would like Avengers fans to know about an upcoming event with Anneke Wills, who appeared in "Dressed to Kill" and "The £50,000 Breakfast." According to Celebrity Meetings, this is "your chance to enjoy an intimate evening in her company. Kicking off at around 7:00 and ending at around 11:00, the evening will include opportunities for you to chat with Anneke, have your photo taken and get her autograph. At around 8:30 she will take the stage for the main event... your chance to hear some fascinating stories and find out all about this memorable Doctor Who girl." The event will take place on 4 November in Bedfordshire; please visit the Celebrity Meetings website for more details.

More on the new French DVDs. (11 October). Interest in the new Canal+ DVDs is expanding, so the information is, too. TAF's DVD Product Grid has been updated with extras gleaned from this French-language website. If you speak French, you can also participate in their forum. You can see the products in AvengerNews and order them directly from TAF using the links below. Also new this time around are eight long-overdue visitor reviews:

Say, what? (10 October). Here's a fun little addition inspired by a suggestion made over at the Forum: Notable Quotes. Currently it's just a compilation of all the "Best Lines" from TAF's episode pages; in time it will grow to include more.

Questions, questions, questions... (9 October) The announcement of the new French DVD sets has generated more email than I've seen in ages. Honestly, these products are so new that I have very few details on them so far. To help answer your questions, there is a new English section of a French forum. You may want to pop over there to see if your questions have already been answered! With thanks to Denis Chauvet.

France beats the States to the finish line. (8 October) Great news from France: The entire series has been (re)released on DVD from Canal+ (see AvengerNews for package images), something that A&E was poised to do many months ago but failed. Note that these are dual-language R2 DVDs in French-only packaging. They also do not include the 2.3 surviving David Keel episodes, as far as I am aware, which are still only available in the special "Kiosk" subscription edition. Extras are unknown at this point. Order the new Chapeau Melon et Bottes de Cuir sets right from here:

A new IMHO offers my hopeful outlook on the impact of this release.
