It never rains, but it pours. (17 August) First up is some exciting news for us Yanks who listen to public radio (and even those who don't): The World (a co-production of the BBC and PRI) will be airing a segment on composer Laurie Johnson sometime toward the end of August/beginning of September. The reason I know this is that I was interviewed for the piece, and some of my interview just might be featured in the program! Keep your eyes on this page for an update—as soon as I hear from the show's writer in Boston as to when it will air, the date and time will be posted right here.

The next item is for stamp collectors. To celebrate their 50th anniversary, The British TV Times magazine commissioned leading cover producer, Buckingham Covers, to create a tribute to The Avengers. Each cover is available signed or unsigned and will have the full set of British ITV stamps to be released in September 2005, including a special Avengers 47p stamp. Covers are 22.5cm long by 12.5cm high. They cost £8.95 unsigned or from £22.95 to £29.95 personally signed by Patrick Macnee, Honor Blackman or Joanna Lumley. Postage, packing and insurance is £1.65 (UK) or £2.65 (outside UK). What's more, if you purchase them (or any others) through The Avengers Forever, you'll be supporting this site! Order them here:

Copyright (C) 2005 Jane BrewsterThen we've got something for Avengers art collectors. Watercolor artist Jane Brewster recently produced the marvelous work shown at right, which is available for purchase as a signed and numbered print. Interested parties should email Jane. You can also visit her website to see other related pieces she has done (Prisoner fans, take note).

Finally, Diana Rigg fans will be especially excited to see three never-before-published photographs of the Dame, available only at The Avengers Forever. They were taken while she was giving an interview in New York circa 1971. Images and details can be found in this new Fan Tale. With many thanks to T.J. Glenn for his generosity.

Hope that's enough for one month!
