Yikes! It's Uma and Ralph!

Happy Hallowe'en, sort of. 31 October. Here's something scary (in a nice way): Alan and Alys Hayes have completed another new restoration project—their thirteenth, in fact—and have started on their fourteenth! "Too Many Olés" (a variation on "They Keep Killing Steed," which was originally set in Spain) is now available to download, and "A Case of Interrogation" ("The Interrogators") is under way. See What's New at AOR for more details. In other news, here's a link to a dazzling new site in the works by Ian Duerden: The Avengers Artland.

Rewriting history, part 2. 27 October. My, how time flies—it certainly does not seem as if it's been over a month since the first installment of this same update. At any rate, to continue, Andrew Pixley's research produced two anomalies in the Tara King Era:

"You'll Catch Your Death" was completed on 24 May 1968, and "All Done with Mirrors" on 13 June 1968, according to Dave Rogers, whereas Mr. Pixley has found paperwork that identifies the former as "Series II Episode 9" and the latter "Series II Episode 8." Similarly, "Thingumajig" was completed on 21 January 1969 and "Homicide and Old Lace" on 23 January 1969, while the paperwork identifies them as "Series II Episode 28" and "Series II Episode 27," respectively.

Whether or not this information will result in changes to the episode guide order will be determined after further communication with Mr. Pixley; the guide follows production order according to completion date, as opposed to start date (last month's revelations about "Warlock" stand as a perfect example of how the completion date fixes an episode's standing in the guides).

Other revisions are thankfully much more straightforward: Mr. Pixley has kindly provided a wealth of trivia on the Cathy Gale Era, particularly regarding the practice of pre-recording certain scenes for insertion during the main recording (usually the day before). The following episode pages feature this and/or other new information as noted:

In entirely different news, Jaz Wiseman has identified one of the unidentified images from the David Keel Era as being from "A Change of Bait" (fourth image from the top on the episode review page). 'M' has provided a marvelous bit of (potential) trivia for "Escape in Time." A filming location has been spotted for an extremely obscure little snippet seen in "Who's Who???" And finally, I've received the 2004 Letter of the Year.
