Yikes! It's Uma and Ralph!

Rewriting history. 23 September. The good news that television historian and author Andrew Pixley has unearthed new details on the production of The Avengers. The bad news is that television historian and author Andrew Pixley has unearthed new details on the production of The Avengers. Huh? Well, Andrew has recently published a terrific new book, The Avengers Files, which by the way is now available and also highly recommended. Whilst doing his homework for this tome, he found that the production dates for several episodes needed to be revised. Although this is exciting news from a historical perspective, quite a few episodes have had to be re-ordered as a result, summarized as follows:

  • The last four episodes of the David Keel season have been shuffled.
  • The first two episodes of the first Cathy Gale season have been reversed.
  • "Warlock" moved from episode 31 to 42, owing to the re-recording of key scenes six months after initial production.
  • The first two episodes of the second Cathy Gale season have been reversed.

Sorry if this messes up a lot of fans' episode indices, but such is the price of progress! And there are more changes yet to come! But given that Andrew also kindly provided many new items of trivia and other useful information, I thought I'd tackle this in two rounds (even though only several episodes were involved, a few dozen pages had to be updated as a result). In the meantime, French-speaking fans should enjoy Entrez dans la réalité de chapeau melon & bottes de cuir and the related Forum.

Back to school. 15 September. While all the kids are headed back to the books, TAF gets a some new reviews from regular contributor Matthew Moore:

Also new this time are links to Frank Faber's De Wrekers/the Avengers site, and Anne's Stuff and the Avengers.

You don't look a day over four! 3 September. TAF is now eight years old this month! In a new IMHO, I bring to light the value of this achievement, and how it came to pass. Also in this update are the following new links:
