Cathy on R2 at Amazon. 27 January. Finally! The UK third season is now ready for pre-order (delivery in March). SEE (Sharp Eyes Everywhere). 21 January. Young Eli Masour (11) noticed that, in "The Girl from Auntie," Arkwright refers to his knitting circle as the AKC, thus making it a heretofore undocumented Acronym. Sam "Nitpicker" McCallie also spotted TOHE, Test of Human Endurance, from "The Interrogators," and BBC, British Burial Caskets, a division of WTI (Wainwright Timber Industries), from "The Rotters." On a related thread, Andrew Knight has begun noting Steed's Tara King era Aunties (which up to now have not received much attention) with Aunt Emily, who bequeathed a battered, brassy alarm clock used to indicate that "dawn approacheth" in "Game." Trivia time. 18 January. New trivia question: How many different roles does Damita Syn play in "Epic"? Answer. With thanks to Bill McCutcheon for the suggestion. Also: Who might have been next after Emma? A new addition to AvengerLore illustrates a few possibilities. IMHO. 17 January. What does it mean? FAQ redo. 12 January. Whilst updating a few FAQs, it became clear that the questions were not organized very well, so the FAQs have been completely restructured, now featuring groups of related questions as well as several new additions. The last of Tara has arrived. 11 January. Folks in R1 DVD land now have the complete Tara King era. Images have been duly updated for the last episodes to arrive from A&E, which include "My Wildest Dream," "Who Was That Man I Saw You With?," "Pandora," "Thingumajig," "Requiem," "Take-Over" and "Bizarre." BTW, over 100 ballots have been cast already, and since voting won't be shut down like it was the last time, the results will be ever-changing. If you haven't voted yet, why not join the fun! And don't forget that fans of The New Avengers can participate too! Number crunching can be fun! 9 January. Author Dan Leissner has published a book on Imogen Hassall—see her bio for information on how to obtain it. TAF featured at Retrosellers. 5 January. Retrosellers has graciously made TAF a "Special Feature" with glowing commentary, excerpts from the site, and some star photos that did not originate from here (this is not a complaint—it is a suggestion that you go have a look). Retrosellers is a framed site, so when you arrive at the home page, choose "Special Features" from the menu on the left, then click on Steed's crazy laughing face on the right. With thanks to David Barnes. Setting the record straight. 2 January. At the suggestion of Alan (Avengers on the Radio) Hayes, I've created a new page called AvengerMyths, an assortment of "old wives' tales" that still seem to be making the rounds. It's a small collection for starters—I am sure that more will crop up over time. In other news, it seems that the New Year's Day Marathon on the Mystery Channel got a lot of folks jumping online looking for websites, as I've just received a whole slew of visitor comments—speaking of which, the ones from December are online. And finally, I put the Original Avengers Font to use and dressed up the episode indices a bit. |
