A Brush with "Steed." 26 June. Matthew J. Elliott relates a humorous little anecdote about meeting Patrick Macnee in "Why Is He Your Ex-Boss?" Also found a new website that may be of interest to German fans looking for a club to join: Emmapeeler.de. The site appears to be a work in progress that may be long on style but (so far) is short on content.

A Comic Queen of Sin. 24 June. Jean Grey as Marvel Comic's tribute to the Queen of Sin makes an appearance, courtesy of Bob Halloran. Also with this update: new links for Powell & Pressburger articles about Dennis Price and Patrick Macnee, with thanks to Steve Crook.

Acronyms-R-Us. 18 June. Sam (The Nitpicker's Guide to The Avengers) McCallie takes the prize today for the Nutshell in "The Nutshell." He also points out that the newly-reported acronym from "The Outside-In Man" was incorrect. Thank you, Sam! Other fun stuff: Steven Guillot of Marseille, France, made a return trip to Duchess Mews (a.k.a. 3 Stable Mews) this spring to snap some fabulous new images—this time the street was not under construction. Thank you, Steven!

Serious new nits. 17 June. This time it's not Sam nitpicking episodes; it's me, lambasting certain fans. Prepare to have your feathers ruffled by my latest IMHO. (Tackling three annoying fan gripes this time, I will no doubt be receiving three times as much hate mail. So be it; it comes with the territory. I would have gotten out of the kitchen long ago if that sort of heat bothered me.) Also new today are two more acronyms: a sharp-eyed—er, eared—Mike Kunkel caught one in "The Outside-In Man," and the redoubtable Alan Hayes extracted the other from "Split!"

New nits. 11 June. Sam (The Nitpicker's Guide to The Avengers) McCallie has added new pages to his site, accessible via TAF reviews for "The Nutshell," "The White Elephant," "Man-Eater of Surrey Green" and "The Last of the Cybernauts...??"

If you like The Avengers, you may also enjoy... 10 June. The US eStore has been expanded to include videos for related shows, including Secret Agent (Danger Man), The Prisoner, The Saint, I Spy and Sherlock Holmes. One stop shopping for spy fans of all stripes! (James Bond is in the works.)

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? 8 June. Students of dead languages might be interested in the trivia added to "Man With Two Shadows." In other trivial news, having begun a review of archived email, I discovered one from 4 December 2001 (shame!) that clears up some of the mysteries regarding Steed's various residences. A sharp-eyed, anonymous visitor points out that his address in the Emma Peel monochrome era was neither 5 Westminster Mews nor 3 Stable Mews. See "The Murder Market" for the answer! (Both the Flats and FAQs pages have been updated as a result.)

When does "uncut" really mean "uncut"? 6 June. See the latest entry in AvengerNews to find out.

Cut the cake, pour the champers. 2 June. For some strange reason, it seems to me as if Los Vengadores, the internet's first Spanish website devoted to The Avengers, has been around forever. But Carlos Pagés has just reminded me that it was launched one year ago today. If you haven't been there in a while, you owe it to yourself to stop by, especially as it is now bilingual—Carlos and crew have created a very, very special place for Avengers fans, particularly those who appreciate fine imagery (I love Steed in the space suit). Congratulations to Carlos, Terylene and everyone else in Argentina for enriching the Avengers universe! Also, in light of Lucas' latest Star Wars installment, I've made a minor update to Christopher Lee's bio.
