Quote, Unquote again... 30 October. The New Avengers: Season 2

It's All Very Trivial Today... 28 October. Nice bit of trivia I chanced upon while reading the excellent new Doctor Who scriptbook for the 1974/5 season. It expands upon a previous trivia item, for "The Mauritius Penny," and includes a telling quote from the episode's co-writer, Terrance Dicks. Also, a trivia item about Jon Rollason for "Dead on Course."

To Guote... 27 October. There's a Gale blowing (these witterings are getting worse and worse!) as there's a new Quote, Unquote available today, for Season 2.

How to make The Avengers... 24 October. The Avengers in Studio branches out today into its own section, and gives you all you need to know about how to make your own Avengers series at home... (well, almost!). Special thanks today to Mike Noon for sterling work spotting all my mistakes over the last few days! Cheers Mike.

The Forgotten Avengers Girl... 23 October. A brand new biography has been added for the first female Avengers regular - Ingrid Hafner. Additional credits have been added to the biography pages of Diana Rigg (thanks Magda and Cindy!), Ian Hendry and Honor Blackman.

SingalongaVenus... 22 October. Still focusing on biographies tonight - major additions to that of Avengers chanteuse, Julie Stevens.

Lucky Stuntmen... 21 October. The Quote, Unquote feature moves on to The New Avengers: Season 1 today. Oodles and oodles of fascinating quotes from those involved in the making of the series, from the time of production! Contains many gems that were lost in the mists of time...  Also, new information has been added to the biographies of Brian Clemens, Diana Rigg, Linda Thorson, Julie Stevens and Gareth Hunt. Finally, Ian Hendry's biography has been greatly expanded to include details of his path to the theatrical profession, plus updated pre-Avengers television credits.

Before I Flake Out... 20 October. Just had a busy (but fun!) couple of days - went to an excellent concert by the French retro band, Air, yesterday evening at the Royal Albert Hall (New Avengers location, of course!) and today dropped by the National Film Theatre's Missing Believed Wiped event. Of course, there was hope that this may include "Girl on the Trapeze," but to no avail (rights difficulties were mooted) - an excellent event nonetheless. Right, I'm off to bed - if I can crawl that far!  :>)

The Things People Say... 18 October. The words of Julian Wintle, Diana Rigg and Patrick Macnee are all immortalized in Quote, Unquote: Season 4. Just wait till you hear what Macnee thought Elizabeth Shepherd's best feature was...

Rome Wasn't Built in a Day: 17 October. But "The Grandeur That Was Rome" Visitor Review, by Steed's Shadow, was. So he tells me! Also today, first in another new series of pages for The Avengers Forever - Quote, Unquote: Season 1. Read what Avengers personnel had to say when they were making the show. Finally, a caveat to the earlier update to "The Curious Case of the Countless Clues" page, courtesy of Pete Stampede. Cheers Pete!

Still Pottering! 15 October. Those who want to spend the next year in the company of Steed and his Avengers chums, hop over to The Avengers eStore, where the 2002 Avengers Calendar is available for order in the UK Merchandise section.

Pottering Around: 14 October. Loads of little tweaks today. Thanks to Mike Noon for a couple of helpful prods - first to let me know that the merchandise supplier Avengers on the Web has ceased trading (links removed), and second, that Pelham Puppets, who supplied props for three episodes, have an online presence. Other than that, the FAQ and Bibliography pages have been updated. Two new French items—attractively packaged boxed sets of Season Four and Season Five on VHS and DVD—can now be purchased. Intriguingly, the Season Five DVD boxed set contains a bonus DVD, but there has been no confirmation of contents of this disc.

Tara King DVD/VHS from France: 12 October. Canal+ have now issued the entire Tara King series in France. Ordering links plus cover artwork and episode details can be found on the French Tara King Episodes page at The Avengers eStore.  Also a new item of trivia regarding actor Peter Jones on "The Curious Case of the Countless Clues" page.

Over at The Avengers eStore: 11 October. Contender have announced that the street date for Set 3 of the 1967 Definitive Dossier is 26 December 2001. Details of episodes on the set, plus a first look at the box artwork, can be found on the Original Avengers on DVD page, where the set can be pre-ordered.

Stand By, Studio! 10 October. The Avengers in Studio will give you a feel for how one of the earliest episodes of The Avengers was committed to videotape...  Of course, they then had to go and lose it!

Stop Me If You've Heard This. 8 October. First of all, please note the new, permanent address for The Avengers Forever: http://theavengers.tv/forever/. Secondly, it's hello from me, Alan Hayes.  While David takes a well-earned break, he's (probably foolishly!) handed over the reins to myself and the other webmasters at TheAvengers.TV - Mike Noon, Carlos Pagés and my wife, Alys.  We'll do our best to live up to your faith in us, David. Anyway, to business: first update is a revision to the page concerning The Avengers Radio Show, to include some new information.  More soon.

—Alan Hayes for David K. Smith

Taking a Sabbatical. 1 October. The Avengers Forever webmaster will be taking an extended break from webmastering. In the meantime, there will be occasional updates managed by other members of TheAvengers.TV. And be sure to visit TheAvengers.TV Forum for the latest Avengers news. Thank you for your patronage and your patience.
