26 November: Unimaginable sadness.

SCOOP! (23 November) For the past few weeks I've been corresponding with a fellow by the name of Rodney Marshall, who happens to be the son of one of The Avengers' most notable writers, Roger Marshall. Initially commenting on certain contentious aspects of the history regarding "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Station," Rodney later agreed to ask his father to contribute to The Avengers Forever, ostensibly to set the record straight regarding "A Funny Thing" but actually to allow Roger to speak plainly in general about the series. Rodney cautioned that his father's comments might be highly controversial; but when the draft arrived, it was either toned down, or not as controversial as Rodney warned. Rodney kindly transcribed Roger's handwritten notes, which have become the core of a new biography; meanwhile, Rodney has been reviewing all of his father's episodes, and is composing his own observations on the series in general (which will be coming online shortly). Rodney has even offered to get Roger and myself connected by telephone, and I may one day pursue this; but for the present I have been entirely too preoccupied caring for my precious little four-legged daughter, Emma, who is acutely ill.

Over 26,000 hits in one month. (2 November) For the month of October, TAF averaged over 800 hits a day. That's a lot for a website about one old TV show! For a painfully detailed analysis of all website traffic, see this IMHO.

August was a landmark month for The Avengers, so if you haven't seen the news, don't miss it!
