It never rains... (26 August) Right on the heels of one of the biggest Avengers discoveries in years, I received an offer out of the blue. Max Pemberton, the Associate Editor of Films In Review, New York, NY, asked if I'd care to feature a section on the series' music. How could I possibly refuse? And so now, after having planned on a music section practically since the website was launched in 1996—and never having found the time to develop it properly—The Avengers Forever now has a new chapter: The Music. (Max, if you're reading this, please note that your emails are being returned as undeliverable, so I've been unable to express my gratitude!) Max also contributed some marvelous trivia for "The Girl from Auntie."

Champagne, take two. (25 August) The second Laurent-Perrier champagne commercial has arrived. Regrettably, it's not a different commercial; it's the same one with a different soundtrack—another language and different music. On the bright side, the image quality is considerably better.

French lesson. (20 August) Thanks to TheAvengers.TV Forum member David F, we now have a translation of Steed's monologue from the newly-discovered Laurent-Perrier champagne commercial.

History revision. (19 August) Just when you thought we knew it all, something surprising turns up. For a long time, it's been a matter of speculation that the existence of The New Avengers was owed in part to the production of a Laurent-Perrier champagne commercial that featured Linda Thorson and Patrick Macnee. However, no one could confirm its existence, and after a while some began to think it was all made up. Now, the commercial has been found, laying to rest any doubts (please see the new page about the commercial for the details on how this incredible find came to light). Also, the California film archive where "Hot Snow" and "Girl on the Trapeze" were found once claimed to have a ten-minute version of The Strange Case of the Missing Corpse. However, it has been confirmed that they were in error—theirs was only three minutes long, the same as the DVD extra (with thanks to Trevor Dorman).

Press release. (12 August) See AvengerNews for details on a forthcoming autobiography by Anneke Wills, a two-time Avengers guest star.
