Episode 143: Tara King Era |

Production completed: 30 July 1968
Some classic films translate well into Avengers
episodes. This one—well, maybe it works for some people. It was rather
tedious for me... one too many pseudo-western music cues.
The Avengers Dossier gives the German title as "Wenn ex Zwölf uhr Sehläght." Holger Schmitz of Gummersbach, Germany, asks: What is this? A new kind of Esperanto, or maybe Klingon? The correct and only German title is "Wenn es 12 Uhr schlägt" (translated, "When the clock strikes 12" in the broadest sense). There are no alternative titles. Howard Blake composed the incidental music for this episode. *This unofficial subtitle is by Yours Truly.
Shot on Brian Clemens' own farm—Park Farm,
Ampthill. The
railway station scenes shot at Stanbridgeford, Bucks.
In gratitude Steed showers Tara with gifts, including his leg cast, a bottle of champagne, a box of cigars (by mistake), an umbrella, and a luminous sundial. |
