New online store. 29 February—The new millenium has brought us another resource for Avengerstuff: Avengers On the Web, an online shop in London, England. Visitor reviews. 27 February, and they're already coming in. Not a surprise, really. Here's a list of what's been contributed so far. Catching up on email. 26 February—I'm nearly caught up on a backlog of email that was threatening to burst my "Pending" folder. The International Scene: Argentina received a notable contribution by the authors of Under Cover magazine. An appearance by Linda Thorson on Empty Nest in 1989 has been added to her bio (thanks to Kimberly). An appearance by Diana Rigg in "Prudential's On Stage" presentation of Married Alive with Robert Culp has been added to her bio (thanks to David Lomazoff). "Mission... Highly Improbable" received a bit of highly trivial trivia. "Epic" got a continuity error. And a few more entries were added to that ever-expanding Dossier Blooper Page. Regulars may wonder what became of visitor voting—well, entries slowed to a virtual stop some time ago, so it appeared that voting had run its course. I decided to move visitor interaction to a new level—I don't know of too many sites that offer this opportunity. To all you would-be critics, have fun! Avengers '64 at Amazon.com! 18 February. Amazon.com announced availability of the Avengers '64 Sets, both VHS and DVD. The DVD prices are really good (40% off!), and may go up, so buy early (thanks to Philippe Berthe and Bill McCutcheon). New PAL tapes from Contender on the way. 16 February. Condender has announced the next wave of PAL tapes—see AvengerNews for details. And, on the same page, look for news on the next Dead Man's Treasure Hunt! Odds and ends. Pete Stampede stopped by and dropped off a small book on Peter Bowles, as well as additional material for Patrick Cargill and Peter Cushing. A little bit of AvengerNews, a few new Dossier bloopers and a couple of missed tombstones round out the updates for 13 February. Also, fans in the UK can purchase an Avengers T-shirt here (thanks to Jim Ferreira). Judy Parfitt sightings. Francis Hui notes that the guest actress who appeared in "Bullseye," "The White Elephant," "Escape in Time" and "Whoever Shot Poor George Oblique Stroke XR40?" appeared on ER last Thursday and is suppose to do so again tonight, 10 February. She plays the mother of Dr. Elizabeth Corday. Happy Birthday, Patrick Macnee! Born this day, 6 February, 1922. Best wishes from all us fans. Also some new stuff on the International Scene: Argentina—a magazine from Argentina and a better poster. More AvengerLore. Mike Cheyne has done a remarkable job of compiling a complete list of all actors who worked on both The Avengers and James Bond. The list has been added to the new AvengerLore page. Also, the list of Steed's Aunties has been moved to the same page so the marvelous work done by the Steedophiles can be found and appreciated more easily. 5 February. Collector items for sale or trade. For fans of Clive Revill ("Dead Men Are Dangerous"), Pete Stampede has written a small book on him. Pete has also identified unbilled appearances in "The Master Minds," "Man-Eater of Surrey Green" and "A Sense of History," which required considerable revisions to the guest actor directory as well as the addition of three new Doppelgangers (two of them will also be added to the Doppelganger Gallery in the near future). Typo alert. I just now noticed that I'd misspelled a character name in "The Gravediggers." It's not Thirwell (as listed in Rogers' book) but Thirlwell. |
